Following on from the excellent work recently completed at the Calvert Trust at Wistlandpound, John Rice, Martyn Budd and members of the Wednesday and Thursday Gangs comprising Martyn, 2xSteve’s, Dave, Nick, Keith and Anne went to Bridwick Farm where they focused their attention on more drainage and culvert clearance work.

Clearance work at Wistlandpound carried out during September 2019 revealed that the cause of the wet area in the adjacent field occupied by the Calvert Trust was the inlet to the 18inch culvert under the railway embankment was buried and thus blocked. This was resulting in flooding of the field with the water percolating through the embankment over a 50m length.
The other week some of the Wednesday Gang were tasked to go to Rowley Cross to undertake one of our regular responsibilities, cutting the grass and tidying the picnic site, leaving it suitable for public use.
In 2015, the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway and Walhalla Goldfields Railway (WGR) in Victoria, Australia entered into a twinning agreement. Last week on the 10th June, WGR suffered considerable damage by a severe rain storm and high winds.
The L&B Trust is delighted to announce that it is the new owner of 'The Halt' at Parracombe. More importantly, not only does the L&B own another station - but perhaps more significantly, for the first time in our history - as we own all the trackbed from Woody Bay Station to and including Parracombe Halt - we have joined up two of the L&B's long-closed stations.
