Work continues at Chelfham Station.
1. Dave Evans has recently been busy constructing this ‘cupboard’ to house the water filter plant. Built in the style of the one that was installed by the Southern Railway to house gas cylinders for lighting the station building.
2. Alistair Burgess poses with some tools ready for the afternoons work. Alistair is a regular volunteer at both Woody Bay and Chelfham.
3.The path for the woodland-walk - uphill from the station gate - has recently been cleared of overgrowth.
4. The work to widen this path has also revealed the original concrete fence posts on the right which form the boundary with our neighbours, Chelfham House.
Although Woody Bay Station is currently closed, Chelfham Station will be open every Sunday for visitors to view the restoration progress and enjoy a trackbed and woodland walk.
