Rowley Moor Properties Ltd

In Spring 2014 the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust acquired Rowley Moor Farm at Blackmoor Gate, the fields and barns being required for the planned extension to the line.

Rowley Moor House was included in the purchase price but was surplus to railway requirements. A separate Company, Rowley Moor Properties Ltd (RMP), was created which now owns and manages Rowley Moor House as a holiday timeshare. RMP also owns the adjoining property (Heddon View) which is currently occupied by a L&BR employee.

L&BR Trust members bought 50 shares, each share costing £6000. The owner of each share is entitled to stay in Rowley Moor House for one week every year in perpetuity. The shares can be bequeathed to family or friends. There is an annual maintenance charge, currently £220 per share.

The week allocated to each share moves on by 17 or 18 weeks each year – this gives shareholders the opportunity to enjoy Exmoor in the differing seasons. During the course of a period of 50 years each share will benefit from nearly every week in the year.

Rowley Moor House is a semi-detached property which will accommodate up to eight people. Entrance to the house is via the utility room which contains a washing machine and a tumble drier. The kitchen / breakfast room includes electric cooker, fridge / freezer, dish washer, microwave and a generous supply of crockery and cutlery. From the breakfast area of this room folding double glazed patio doors lead out on to a large wooden decked area which gives glorious views of the Heddon Valley and the Bristol Channel. We look forward to the day when L&BR trains will once again run past the bottom of the garden. The ground floor also includes a lounge, a dining room and a cloakroom

The first floor contains two double bedrooms (one with an en-suite bathroom), one twin bedded room and two single bedrooms. There is a family bathroom and an additional WC.
