We would just like to thank you for the lovely time we had on 28 December after not being able to get to you to travel on the Santa Specials because of the snow. We had a great time on the steam train and we were made very welcome by all of you. Santa had even left a present for Erin - she was so chuffed! I called in on my way to a holiday in Cornwall and was very impressed with the railway atmosphere and the friendly staff.   The station is very attractive and would recommend anyone in the area making a point of visiting Woody Bay. I wish them well in their endeavours - it has already been done in North Wales so why not here in Devon?

Website is great, trains run into the winter, the cafe is super, the atmosphere is spot on.  Given the resources to expand, there's even more magic to be had here.

I visited your railway a few weeks ago and have never been made to feel more welcome on a preserved railway. I have been involved with many preserved lines for many years and yours is one of the best set-ups I have come across.

I visited the L&B with my wife and two daughters. I enjoyed the experience far more than expected - there was more to see and do than is the perception given by the website. We particularly liked the general tidiness (especially the toilets) the tea rooms, and the general ambiance of the station. We also found the volunteer staff friendly and efficient. The focus on customer enjoyment rather than just running a railway is to be commended.

Four of us had lunch at the Woody bay station cafe while we were waiting to take a trip on the train during the 2nd week of August.  My husband and I live locally and our guests were from London.  I have to say it was the best lunch we have had locally - not only was it delicious and beautifully prepared, but the service was exceptional.  What a gem!
