This week's report comes from Graham Rust.
With Martyn Budd, the General Manager away on holiday it was still business as usual.
1. LYN gently simmers in the early morning sunshine.
2. Dave, Dave and Chris begin to tidy-up the area between the running shed and the miniature railway.
3. Chris and Kevin dispose of the rubbish into the bogie open wagon.
4. Five of the Thursday Gang were tasked with correcting a slight dip that had developed in the down loop.
5. Tim was busy replacing the nuts and bolts on the fence that runs along the path to the toilet block.
6. Paint Shop Boys Jim, Geoff and Barry continued to overhaul the brake van. some of the wooden panelling has ben replaced and the roof will be recovered to make it waterproof. The aim is to have it ready for the Autumn Gala.
7. A trio of Daves were busy installing the safety rails around the recently enlarged pit in the running shed.
8. LYN at Killington Lane. Driver Graham and Fireman Martin wait for the right of way as Guard Bob checks that all the doors are securely closed.
9. Some distance away, Anne and Keith were busy installing new fencing at Parracombe Lane, where the bridge goes over the old trackbed. The grassy area defines the trackbed which should be about 15ft lower to allow the track to go under the lane. The cutting has been filled in over the years and your photographer is standing on the bridge itself. This cutting will be excavated and the bridge reinstated as part of our extension.
