South East Area Groups Meeting - PLEASE NOTE!

The annual South East Area Groups Meeting organised by the Surrey Support Group is fast approaching and will take place on Saturday 10th June 2017 in the clubhouse at:

Woking Miniature Railway (Mizens Railway)
Barrs Lane
Knaphill
Surrey
GU21 2JW

Between 12 noon and 1.30pm BBQ lunches and train rides will be available on the extensive Mizens Railway 7¼" gauge railway, hopefully hauled by a steam locomotive.

The formal meeting commences at 2pm and will comprise a number of separate AV presentations, each followed by a Q&A session, including:-

• L&BR Trust - a news update from Woody Bay encompassing the latest news relating to the all important Planning Applications submitted for the Phase 2A extension (L&BR Trustee Jon Pain);
• Exmoor Associates – latest news of efforts to procure trackbed for the L&BR Phase 3 extension between Wistlandpound Reservoir and Barnstaple (EA Chairman Mike Buse);
• 762 Club - the L&BRs replica Baldwin locomotive 'LYN' is nearing completion and will be in steam at Woody Bay in September. Our presenter is well qualified to impart the latest news on this exciting project (762 Club Director Jon Pain); and
• EAST - news of the L&B Heritage Coach restoration works change of facility from Great Yeldham to their new workshop at Fridaywood Farm in Colchester (L&BR Trustee Peter Snashall).

The Surrey Group’s Sales Stand will be present giving attendees the opportunity to purchase the latest L&BR items available from Woody Bay. We will also have available a selection of Gerald Chandler’s railway books bequeathed to us for the benefit of the railway.

There is ample off-road parking available within the grounds and admission to the meeting will be FREE OF CHARGE.

All members of the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Trust
are welcome to attend this important event.
