Due to a change in their personal circumstances, one of the Rowley Moor Properties shareholders has reluctantly decided to sell their share in the L&BR related holiday property "Rowley Moor House" at Blackmoor Gate.
Each year the allocated week for the share moves on by about 18 weeks - this means each shareholder gets to see and enjoy Exmoor in all the various seasons as the years go by.
We are sad to report, John Burford, a long time member and volunteer at Lynton & Barnstaple Railway passed away suddenly but peacefully on Friday 25th February aged 89 years.
There is a service at the Barnstaple Crematorium to celebrate his life on Wednesday 16th March at 1.40pm and afterwards at the Portmore Golf Club.
Family flowers only, but any donations to his chosen 2 charities of Devon Air Ambulance and North Devon Hospice can be made on the day or by contacting funeral directors
Based at Woody Bay, we will be undertaking a number of trackwork and site tasks to assist getting the railway ready for the upcoming season.
As always, hot drinks will be provided but please do bring your own lunch.
Please do let us know in advance if this is your first visit and we will ensure you are provided with the appropriate H&S guidance information in advance of the weekend.
Regarding our Section 73 Application, here are the exhibition panels from the presentation at Woody Bay Station held Friday 11th and Saturday 12th February.
The consultation period is now closed - our thanks to everyone who responded.
Over the three-day period, we had a large turnout on each day. This weekend was the one in which the cafe marquee would be used for the last time before being dismantled to make way for the new tea room to be built prior to the railway hopefully reopening in March.
Pictures of work undertaken on Sunday 30th January. Note the new railings panel between the signal cabin and station building and outside awards plaque position for the NHRA ceremony.....
